With Spring Break in full swing, Happy Hours, weekend Brunches and with just a little over 30 days left to Stone Crab season; the South Florida ?season? itself is in high gear. Stop the Lionfish,?the owners of 15th Street Fisheries and Lauderdale Marina ?have become concerned about the damage being done by Lionfish in the coastal waters of Florida, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. 15th Street Fisheries will host an informational on April 20th at 6:00pm dedicated to learning about the predatory Lionfish and the plans to eradicate it from local reefs and beyond. Complimentary beer, wine and hors d?oeuvres will be served. A $30 donation to REEF.org will be collected at the door.

Calling all Mixologists, Tequila Partida wants your original cocktail recipes.?The creator of the winning cocktail will receive $500 and their recipe will be featured on the?Tequila Partida?website, along with placement in various media. Interested participants can check out?Facebook?for additional information and details of the competition. Recipes must be submitted to recipe@spiritbirdchallenge.com by April 15 2012. The cocktail showdown will take place on Sunday, April 29th from 6pm to 9 pm at ?Southernmost on the Beach? 508 South Street Key West.

Mercadito Midtown?hosts its April tequila dinner on?Wednesday,?April 18 beginning at 8:30 p.m. Guests will be served?three sharing courses featuring taquizas, a traditional Mexican favorite all prepared using Herradura Tequila.
