Any reasonable employer would not even consider giving you a second chance. You left without notice ? i.e., you were a flake. To someone running a business, people like you are not worth the risk.
Remember, by quitting without notice, you cost that employer time, money, and sales. They invested the money and time into training you and they ended up having to cover a shift because you just decided to quit. That is never okay, no matter what business you are in.
In retail, when you leave your job, the employer usually marks your file that you are either re-hire-able or non-rehire-able. Quitting without notice will flag you as non-rehire-able. The management at your former retailer likely don?t even remember you and will only reference that they marked you as non-rehire-able.
Also, this is the absolute worst time of the year to get hired into retail. The holidays are over and the current staff are getting their hours slashed as it is due to lower sales. It?s the nature of the field. You?ll be lucky if the management even looks at the job applicant pool this time of year ? I sure don?t.
